One thing I have learned in my discernment.

Jesus Christ loves each of us with a love that is inexhaustible. He invites us into this love as he transforms the wood of the manger into the wood of the Cross, humbles Himself in simple bread and wine, and ascends to His Father's right side. That, that is love Itself.

Rev. Mr. Zachary Samples
4th Theology
St. Meinrad Seminary

One thing I have learned in my discernment.

My vocation is not so much a mystery or a puzzle that I need to try to solve, but it is the path of love on which God wants to lead me through my life. I had to learn to not fret and worry about where I thought God might be leading me or what vocational path might be right for me, knowing that God trusts me to use the talents I have been given to serve Him and His church, and He will be with me all the way

One thing I have learned in my discernment.

Seminary has been a tremendous blessing for me, it has revealed how much the Lord loves me and has shown me the marvel of living in that love. It's a joyful life!

One thing I have learned in my discernment is that God calls us in our brokenness. As the bishop says in the Rite of Ordination, “may God who has begun the good work in you bring it to fulfillment.”

One thing I have learned in my discernment is that God never calls you to something without providing you the means of arriving there. In other words, He never asks you to do something without giving you the necessary tools to do it.

One thing I have learned in my discernment.

You can’t out do God! Don’t be afraid to offer Him everything! You won’t out do his kindness or His mercy.

One thing I have learned in my discernment.

Once you start asking God how to serve Him, you never know where He will take you. My time in seminary has been beyond anything I could have imagined or desired.

One thing I have learned in my discernment is that we may not always know how God is working in our lives. However, if we trust in God and do not deny the grace God is always giving us, we can be sure that God is working in us.

One thing that I learned throughout discernment is to put everything in the hands of God through our Blessed Mother. I have learned to trust in the desires of His Sacred Heart.

One thing I have learned through my discernment is to not fear and to trust fully in the Lord. Catholics are not called to be weak; we are to be bold as lions.

One thing that I have learned in my discernment is to place complete and total trust in God. When I am unsure of where God wants to lead me, uttering the words "Jesus, I trust in you!" has been a great consolation on my discernment journey.
